ABACUS COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION OF RELIANCE TRAVEL

Singapore, 17 September 2012 – Abacus International, Asia Pacific’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, today announced the details of the completion of the full conversion of Reliance Travel, a leading travel franchise system in Malaysia, from Travelport’s Galileo system to the Abacus platform.

Through the 5-year agreement, Abacus has become Reliance Travel’s preferred distribution partner, providing access to full travel content including air, hotel, car and rail. The Abacus deal also provides Reliance with two strategic solutions including Abacus WebConnect to help leverage the benefits of an online presence and Bargain Finder Max, which provides the ability to sort and display hundreds of diverse worldwide, lower-priced itineraries for available flights as well as enabling the presentation of a broader set of carriers and schedules.

“In preparation for our move online, we wanted to make sure we had the right partner with the right solutions to achieve ultimate success,” said Mr Tan Sin Chong, Managing Director, Reliance Travel. “The conversion to Abacus made perfect sense for us, both through the Abacus team investing considerable time in understanding our business objectives and challenges, and by the advanced innovation in Abacus solutions that looks to enable our agents to increase productivity and efficiency.”

Abacus WebConnect is part of the Abacus developer tool kit enabling travel suppliers like Reliance gain a competitive edge with leading travel web tools. Beyond building a customised website that allows customers to shop and book travel content, it offers additional quality web development and support services, including integration with the existing workflow and ease of implementation. Bargain Finder Max helps to increase consumer confidence in low-fare options with a diverse set of carriers and parameters in a single, online calendar matrix. Together, these solutions were made for the growing online market throughout Asia to balance the business of travel management and demand for tailored products in today’s travel landscape.

“Abacus is delighted to partner with Reliance Travel, a business with a long history and many accolades – 40 years of strength in travel management and services,” said Mr Brett Henry, VP Commercial and Marketing, Abacus International. “Through this agreement, Abacus is now powering some of the biggest names in the online travel space, and we are especially pleased to deliver the functionality and technology that Reliance Travel needs to propel them to greater success.”
